hotogrammetry is the science of viewing stereo imagery through specialized hardware and software that enables the operator to see relief and elevations.  This is important in the compilation of planimetric mapping, orthophotography, and the creation of DEMs (Digital Elevation Models).  The importance of seeing elevation in the paired photographs is that it allows the correct geo-location of items collected and displaces the distortion of a two-dimensional photograph. Although there are a variety of companies that create the software and hardware to perform these tasks, the process and the basic collection of this information is primarily attributed to the skill of the operator. TGMG uses a variety of vendors in offering this product for our customers. The cost of planimetric collection is directly related to the overhead of the company, the time it takes the operator to collect, and the number of automated routine in processing the photography and control.
